Ladies Night Out will be held on Monday August 23, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. The cost will be $5.00. Visitors will be free. The theme for the evening will be “Beauty Parlor Blues.” Salads and desserts will be served. Come and enjoy the evening with your sisters and friends.

Our third annual Back to School Fashion Show will be held August 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Lane. All ladies and girls of Cedar Lane are invited to attend. Young ladies from Cedar Lane and Wilson Avenue will model modest, fun and fashionable attire for this season. The goal of the fashion show is to provide young girls with examples of how they can dress modestly while still being fashionable. If you have questions about this event see Donna Askins.

Jade Tibbals is moving to Nashville. On July 24 she will need help from four or five men/young men from 9:00 a.m. to noon (current time estimate) to help move furniture from the second story of her parents’ house onto a Uhaul.  Some of the furniture is very heavy. The Cedar Lane youth have been participating in a mentor program at Whispering Oaks. A reward trip is planned for July 23 to Lake Winnepesaukah in Chattanooga. Fifteen sponsors are needed with donations of $25 each to cover the entrance cost for the children from Whispering Oaks. If you would like to make a donation you can place it in the collection plate and mark “Whispering Oaks” on the envelope or turn it in to the church office.

Last year a group of young ladies from Cedar Lane attended the girls day at Woodson Chapel in Nashville. It was a wonderful day of faith and fun! This year, girl’s day will be held August 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The theme will be Girls of Grace: Faith, Family, & Friends. Sarah Hibbett from Freed-Hardeman University will be the speaker again this year.  Lunch will be served at the church. Special classes will be held for girls and moms. This event is open to girls in grades 5-12 and there is no cost. Attendees will travel there by the church van. If you would like to attend see Jennifer Land by August 8. All children K-5^th grade are invited to the annual back-to-school bash at the Tullahoma Bowling Lanes July 25^th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  There is a cost of $5 per participant. If you have any questions, please contact Curtis and Deana Brewer or Mark and Melissa Rigney.

As part of our community outreach, we continue to collect 2010 – 2011 school supplies for about 200 students for the Tullahoma Housing Authority. Your help is greatly needed. Collection bins are located in the lobby and at other entrances. Below is a list of items being collected in June. A complete list of requested items is available at the information counter in the lobby. If you have any questions or would like to make a monetary contribution please see Sean or Terri Fuller.

3rd Grade through 8^th Grade

It is that time of year to sign up for camp.  If you are going to camp as a counselor or camper you need to register online.  Go to www.shortmountaincamp.org and follow directions to register.  Cedar Lane will offset the cost of camp by providing a $20 canteen card for all the campers from Cedar Lane.   We will also provide each camper with a Camp Shirt.  If you need financial assistance for camp please contact Gary.  You need to register by June 21.  After you register please send Gary an email to garyj@cafes.net stating who is going to camp and their shirt size.  If you have questions please see Gary.  See you at camp!

Cedar Lane and it’s Children’s Ministry are working to provide Spanish Children’s Bibles to our mission team in Arequipa, Peru.  You can provide a beginner Bible story book for $10 or NIV children’s study Bible for $17.  Coins or cash donations will be collected at exit doors by Cedar Lane children following bible classes on June 20, 2010. You can also place donations for this cause in the contribution envelopes marked “Peru Bibles.” Coin collection cans will be available for those interested to take home.   Please see Mark or Melissa Rigney or Andrea Muse with questions.
