VBS is right around the corner! Run with Joshua: Journey to the Promised Land will begin on Sunday, June 7th at 6 PM! Here are some ways you can volunteer your time to this great effort:
On Thursday evening we will celebrate with all VBS workers and participants at an ice cream social. There is a need for homemade ice cream and goodies such as cookies and brownies. PLEASE HELP!! See Kathy Burnett with questions.
There is a need for Arts and Crafts volunteers to help children create memories of their VBS experience. This is a wonderful opportunity to share some special time with these precious children. See Tracey Harden if you have questions.
There is a need for Monthly Food Coordinators for the months of August, October, November and December. We are blessed with many, many good cooks who are eager to help provide meals to those recovering from illness, hospital stays, etc.The Monthly Coordinator’s job is to fill this need by calling those who have offered to cook and coordinating meals for the one in need. There are teams in place to handle funeral needs, so the Monthly Food Coordinator is not involved in that area. If you would be willing to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Please call Evelyn Curlee at 455-6374 or 247-5040 if questions.
VBS is only a few weeks away. We still have several important areas of work that need to be filled. Please volunteer to apply your talents in service to God and help make a difference in the lives of our children. Contact the Burnetts, Abrahams, or Coxes to help out!!
Our goal during VBS week is to reach as many children in our community as possible. To get the word out, we plan to hand out flyers on Sunday, May 31st. We will gather at the church building at 4 PM, distribute flyers in the community and return by 6 PM in order to be here for the young men’s service Sunday evening. Please plan to join us.
The following items are needed for VBS: brown tarps, stones of different sizes, greenery, green vines, purple balloons, green, silver, and brown spray paint, and masking tape, boxes of all sizes. If you would like to donate any of these items please see the Burnetts, Abrahams, or Coxes.
